Pay:

  • $84,357.00-$100,326.98

  • $2,000 Sign on bonus (1/2 to be provided in the first paycheck and second 1/2 to be provided after 90 days of hire)

In response to the humanitarian crisis at America’s ports of entry, Devereux provides short-term shelter care services for unaccompanied children who have come to the United States without a parent or legal guardian. Devereux provides extremely high-quality, trauma-informed residential and educational services for unaccompanied children, with intense supports for their social and emotional health. We also ensure they receive excellent and immediate physical healthcare including pediatric, dental and nutritional supports for every child.

Devereux’s ultimate goal is to ensure every unaccompanied child who receives our services is successfully and quickly discharged into the loving care of their family sponsor. During the short time they are with us, we ensure they have received best-in-class medical, therapeutic, recreational and educational services designed specifically to address the traumas they have sustained during, and often before, their migration journey. This is a very high benchmark to set, but we have already begun partnering with leading legal defense nonprofits to ensure children in our care have access to the finest immigration advocates and support our country offers.

Position:

We are seeking a Bilingual Program Director who is responsible for the management of the programmatic, administrative, financial, and operational systems for refugee children; provision of regular and timely reports will be provided to the Short-term Shelter program; a respectful and supportive workplace environment; and elevating any issues or concerns to the shelter program. The Program Director will develop a positive work environment designed to attract and retain a progressive, caring and diverse workforce. The candidate will meet the current and anticipated needs of key internal and external customers, including individuals, sponsors, and regulatory agencies.the management of the programmatic, administrative, financial, and operational systems for refugee children. 9am-5pm Monday-Friday

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Demonstrates the ability to provide oversight and direction of services, which foster quality customer and community services.

  • Supervises, plans, and coordinates the activities of the process for strategically addressing service needs that Devereux delivers or can provide.

  • Responsible for taking the leadership role in efforts that enhances revenue for Devereux and the role will coordinate and provide guidance for many of these efforts.

  • Creates a vision and name recognition that allows Devereux to have impact on industry and regulatory standards.

  • Manages within budget and provides appropiate supervision and feedback to direct reports.

  • Practices within and influences others to follow external and internal guidelines governing the facility and one's professional licensure guidelines.

  • Demonstrate the ability to structure the unit physical and social environment so that every interaction and activity within the treatment program promotes positive goal-directed responses and/or social interactions from the client and facilitates the psychotherapeutic goals of treatment.

  • Provides leadership and motivation to those under his/her supervision.

  • Develops and implements effective management systems; setting specific goals, standards, expectations, and methods for effective monitoring of daily operational activities.

  • Establishes an operational environment and culture, which is aligned with Center and organizational strategies, initatives and practices.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in social work, education, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science degree AND 2 years experience in program management or as director of a licensed child care program OR Bachelor's degree plus 5 years' experience in child welfare administration or child protective services.

  • Supervisory experience required.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish required.

  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing demands of the position, customer needs, and the organization.

  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications.

Additionally:

  • Fully immunized/vaccinated (or have a medical/religious exemption) for Varicella, MMR, TdAp, Influenza & COVID-19 prior to starting.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards)

  • Valid driver's license
