Starting salary: $58,050 annually.

We are currently seeking a Certified Teacher for the 2024-2025 Academic School year with experience teaching various areas of content. Our classroom structure is designed to match students’ needs. Through an interdisciplinary approach, an individual plan is designed for each student. You will plan and implement therapeutic instructional programs for individuals served on campus who are living with emotional, mental and behavioral health challenges, under the direct supervision of the Principal.

Devereux Ackerman Academy is a school serving students in grades K-12. Ackerman Academy is accredited by Cognia (Formerly AdvancED). We provide a stimulating educational environment for children and youth while they are receiving the highest level mental health treatment. Our education personnel are highly qualified and certified by Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Many of our faculty and staff have multiple certifications to include Special Education and other content areas. Our classroom environment and instruction are designed to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.

• GAPSC Certification -Certified Teacher (Middle or High School various content: Math, Science, Social Studies or English/Language Arts); Grades 4-8 or 6-12

• Special Education Certification preferred

• Experience with Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support strategies preferred.

• Valid Driver's License and background checks required along with Drug Screen
