Pay

  • $78,147.16-$85,786.00

  • $3,000 Sign on bonus(1/2 to be provided in the first paycheck and second 1/2 to be provided after 90 days of hire)

In response to the humanitarian crisis at America’s ports of entry, Devereux provides short-term shelter care services for unaccompanied children who have come to the United States without their legal guardian. Devereux will provide extremely high-quality, trauma-informed residential and educational services for unaccompanied children, with intense supports for their social and emotional health. We will also ensure they receive excellent and immediate physical healthcare including pediatric, dental and nutritional supports for every child.

Devereux’s ultimate goal is to ensure every unaccompanied child who receives our services is successfully and quickly discharged into the loving care of their family sponsor and, during the short time they are with us, have received best-in-class medical, therapeutic, recreational and educational services designed specifically to address the traumas they have sustained during, and often before, their migration journey. This is a very high benchmark to set, but we have already begun partnering with leading legal defense nonprofits to ensure children in our care have access to the finest immigration advocates and supports our country offers.

The Lead Clinician will coordinate clinical services for unaccompanied children and provide clinical supervision and training to licensed and unlicensed clinical staff. They will also;

  • Conduct mental health assessments and provide ongoing children counseling services, screen for human trafficking concerns, and provide crisis intervention services as needed.

  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, other clinicians and Mental Health Workers to maintain a therapeutic and emotional healing environment

  • Establish treatment goals and assist in the implementation of the individualized treatment plan.

  • Carry a supervisory caseload of no more than eight clients and serve as a coverage clinician as needed.

  • Assists Clinicians in the development and implementation of Treatment Plans, administration of clinical assessments.

  • Uses Best Practice Guidelines in providing support and consultation to clinical staff.

  • Ensures that all clinical documentation and reports are completed timely and in accordance with policy and regulations.

  • Delivers therapeutic services in such a manner that they attend to quality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, positive outcomes, and innovative methods of service delivery.

  • Effectively and appropriately communicates with all team members, families/guardian and other involved professionals to ensure coordination of care.

  • Actively participates in weekly clinical rounds, treatment team meetings, and staff meetings.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science field in which clinical experience is a program requirement.

  • Be licensed to provide clinical services in Massachusetts (LMFT, LCSW, LPC).

  • Supervision experience.

  • Experience with children or adolescents in residential or inpatient setting.

  • Be bilingual in English/Spanish.

Additionally:

  • Fully immunized/vaccinated (or have a medical/religious exemption) for Varicella, MMR, TdAp, Influenza & COVID-19 prior to starting.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards)

  • Valid Connecticut Driver's License
