Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health provides services for children and families to ensure a community without abuse, neglect and abandonment, so all children grow to their full potential. Based out of Winter Haven, FL, this position is responsible for:

  • Ensuring the safety, permanency and well-being of children placed under protective supervision

  • Assisting Families through the foster care system until reunification or permanent placement is achieved

  • Self-managing an independent work schedule to include making home visits and court appointments

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited university in social work or related area of study. Related degrees include: criminology, psychology, sociology, counseling, special education, education, human development, child development, family development, marriage and family therapy, and nursing.

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field and two years of experience working in child welfare is strongly preferred

Experience:

  • Two years of experience working with children, adolescents and families is strongly preferred .

Schedule:

  • Must be able to complete a 3 day new hire orientation class (Monday - Wednesday); Hours are approximately 9:00am to 5:00pm each day

Other Requirements:

  • Certification in Child Welfare required (CWCM, CWPI, CPI, etc.)

  • Valid Florida Driver's License

  • On-call rotation

  • Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Screen, TB Test and Influenza Vaccine

  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
