The Retention Specialist supports the success of direct care professionals in their role throughout the onboarding process. This includes facilitating a positive experience from day one through 90 days of employment to support the learning, development, performance, and acculturation of new employees. Assist the new employee in navigating their new role and relationships. The Retention Specialist also collaborates with seasoned employees to facilitate the welcome and acceptance of new members of the team. The retention specialist will perform formal and informal observations in the milieu, provide coaching and feedback to new employees, and share progress with the supervisor. Works in coordination with Managers to develop the competence and confidence necessary to be successful in the DCP role. Position may also provide periodic coaching to other staff identified as needing additional support. Must be available to work evening and weekend shifts with flexibility for day shifts as needed. Position is NOT included in ratio.

High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred
Must have previous direct care experience in a mental health facility
Proficient and comfortable with technology, including Microsoft Office applications, Radar and Profiler, and learning systems.
Must have clear and effective written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
Strong organizational and time management expertise is required.
Ability to work on multiple assignments and prioritize tasks accordingly.
Ability to lead and influence people by example, and effectively provide constructive feedback is needed.
Comfortable dealing with complex issues, and ability to remain regulated while continuing instruction during intense situations.
