Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Bilingual Emotional Support Specialist-Overnight Shift in Westminster, Colorado

We're interviewing NOW for bilingual professionals like YOU in our Westminster, CO program. Pay starts at $20.68/hr, depending on education and experience up to $24.11 plus $1/hr shift differential for evening/overnights. Did we mention $1,000 sign-on bonus too?

Devereux has opened the first therapeutic program for unaccompanied girls in the United States, providing therapeutic residential care services through the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). Would you like to be a part of this impactful program?

We provide extremely high-quality, trauma-informed, culturally-competent residential and educational services for these children, with intense supports for their social and emotional health. Each child’s care is individualized to their needs, with a team of professionals providing consistent support through individual assessment and counseling, group counseling, medical and mental health services, behavior management, education and vocational services, and safety planning.

Devereux’s ultimate goal is to ensure every child receives best-in-class services designed specifically to address the traumas they have sustained during, and often before, their migration journey as well as to help them connect either to shelter or foster care, or to their sponsor.

The Bilingual Youth Care Professional (we call it Emotional Support Specialist) is part of multi-disciplinary team and is responsible for execution of individual’s treatment objectives and goals as assigned by clinical team.

  • Maintain a nurturing, trauma informed, therapeutic treatment environment that is conducive to healthy emotional growth among and between individuals.

  • Protects the health and safety of the individuals while supervising and implementing program activities.

  • Administer culturally responsive strategies in behavioral management.

  • Provide education to individuals on everyday aptitudes and skills, creating an atmosphere of openness that facilitates learning and understanding of acculturation.

  • Serve as a role model of behavior and attitude in supporting individuals’ academic, social and vocational integration.

Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older and Valid driver's license.

  • Minimum of a HS Diploma/GED - Bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree in related field preferred.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish and comfortable in multicultural and multilingual environment.

  • Empathetic and have a team approach to care for our individuals.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor.

  • Be able to attend ten days of in-house orientation on weekdays.

  • Able to lift up to 50+ pounds and perform Safe and Positive Approaches.

  • Must complete and provide proof of current influenza vaccine.

All ORR programs require unvaccinated staff without a medical or religious exemption to be fully vaccinated no later than 7/1/22. If you are already fully vaccinated, you will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or have an approved medical or religious exemption prior to starting.

Devereux and ORR (Office of Refugee Resettlement) conduct a very thorough background check process to ensure the safety of the children in our care.

Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.

Physical Requirements: Requires continuous walking, standing, sitting, fine hand or finger movement, detailed sight and hearing. Significant and frequent use of physical and sensory requirements associated with verbal and written communication, hearing acuity and visual acuity to observe and record client behaviors and activities. Ability to do restrictive procedures in accordance with center guidelines. Required to run/job across campus in the case of a crisis situation. Requires use of office equipment requiring repetitive wrist/hand movement and vision. Ability to routinely perform light lifting and push or pulling of 1-20 lbs., with occasional moderate lifting of 21-60 lbs. and rare heavy lifting of more than 61 lbs. Frequent bending or stooping and reaching above shoulder level. Rare climbing of stairs and ladders. Occasional driving automatic equipment/vehicles. Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances.
