Every day as a Teacher Assistant you will....

Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Special Education preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders

Preferred. Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzing platforms

(Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position). Strong organizational skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks

simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines. Valid driver's license must be maintained.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) COVID-19 vaccine mandate requires staff without an approved medical or religious exemption to be fully vaccinated to be employed in this program. If you are fully vaccinated, you will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or have an approved medical or religious exemption prior to starting.

Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
