The Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services (CIDDS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults – from birth to age 21 – with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and behavioral and emotional disorders. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, and emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community.
CIDDS services include two Approved Private Day schools, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, therapeutic foster care and a full-time residential program.
We are currently seeking a PRN and PT Nurses to work out of our main campus location on Boot Road in West Chester, PA. This position will provide direct nurse to include medication administration; symptom management; behavior management; wellness and medical needs of children within a Residential Treatment Facility ofr children and adolescents wtih intellectual and developmental disabilties.
PRN works a required number of shifts per month, 1 summer and 1 winter holiday. PT shifts are every other weekend-days or evenings.
Key Words: BSN, RN, Nurse.
EDUCATION: Pennsylvania RN license required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Previous clinical experience in a behavioral healthcare setting required. Experience with Infection Prevention policy, procedures, audits and guidelines preferred. Candidates should have experience with individuals with cognitive and/or behavioral challenges or medically complex conditions. Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position). Strong organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines. Valid driver's license must be maintained.
Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
