Physical Therapist responsibilities include:
Facilitates the development and rehabilitation of students with mental, emotional and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed physical therapy.
Demonstrates the ability to structure the unit physical and social environment so that every interaction and activity within the treatment program promotes positive goal-directed responses and/or social interactions from the client and facilitates thepsychotherapeutic goals of treatment.
Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health PA Children’s IDD Services, located in West Chester, Pennsylvania , provides a variety of assessment, treatment, and educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges.
Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.

EDUCATION: Licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Physical Therapist and bachelor’s degree required.
EXPERIENCE: Six months of related field experience required; one year preferred. Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft
Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software
applications pertinent to the position). Strong organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires ability
to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines. Valid driver's license
must be maintained.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to administer CPR. Ability to administer first aid. Ability to properly restrain
adolescent/adult client. Ability to create and maintain a therapeutic milieu. Regularly requires walking, standing, stooping, bending,
repetitive wrist/hand movement, and pushing/pulling (1/2 to 3/4 of the workday). Seldom requires sitting. May require lifting up to 50
lbs. (1/4 to 1/2 of the workday). Range of hearing and vision sufficient to operate standard office machines and communicate with co-
workers and stakeholders in person and via telephone. .Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or
other chemical substances or controlled substances. Often drives a Devereux vehicle or van (1/4 to 1/2 of the workday). Regularly
works inside in areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated (1/2 to 3/4 of work time). Some fluctuation in temperature. Also,
often works outside. May work in wet conditions (<1/4 of work time).
