The Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services (CIDDS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults – from birth to age 21 – with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and behavioral and emotional disorders. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community.
We are seeking a Full Time Food Service Specialist to work at our facility located in West Chester, PA. The position will prepare and serve food items to the children and adolescents that live at our residential program and attend our school. Specific responsibilities will include:
Food preparation based on nutritional requirements and guidelines
Serve food to clients and student in the serving line
Prepare take out meals and possibly deliver on campus
Food preparation and set up for meetings
Dishing washing/cafeteria clean up/table and floors as needed
Documentation related to special diets and intake as indicated
Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The DianaScreen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED and Certification by County Board of Health required.
EXPERIENCE: 1 year experience in food preparation and must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
