The Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health External Affairs office, located in Villanova, Pa., is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and creative professional to join our team. As Devereux’s External Affairs Coordinator , you will assist the the Senior Vice President of External Affairs/Chief Strategy Officer, providing project management and administrative support.
In this role, the External Affairs Coordinator will serve as a critical point of contact with key constituencies, including internal leaders as well as the Devereux Board of Trustees, major donors, elected officials and other valued stakeholders.
Specific tasks include work on a number of exciting and impactful endeavors, creating written product (case statements, donor reports, white papers, customized donor correspondence, etc.) and presentation materials, including slides.
Our ideal team is a great collaborator and creative and enthusiastic project manager who will excel in planning multiple initiatives and events concurrently.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President for External Affairs/Chief Strategy Officer, the External Affairs Coordinator will:
Work collaboratively with the SVP of External Affairs/Chief Strategy Officer, in planning and executing activities, that support the organization’s strategic plan;
Serve as the project manager for special projects;
Prepare and disseminate reports, emails and other routine, written communication for the SVP and National Director. Maintain calendar and schedules with understanding of priorities;
Perform data collection, research and analysis as needed to support initiatives.
Assist in meeting and event planning in support of both executives, including management of pre and post meeting communication (including agenda and minutes);
Manage travel logistics, including itineraries and expenses;
Attend and provide event support which may include on-site assistance.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Development or other related field; Additional technical training in fundraising strongly encouraged;
Minimum of two years’ experience providing administrative and/or project support to a member of a senior management team, with preference given to a behavioral healthcare, human services, healthcare, clinical or university environment or development-related work, preferably in not-for-profit, health care or social services arena, database management and research;
Superior written/oral communication skills, strong project management and organizational skills, analytic skills and mastery of standard office software;
Must demonstrate professional demeanor with exceptional interpersonal skills, team player, and be able to make quick and accurate decisions independently; Ability to work with constantly changing priorities and multi-tasker, and have sound judgement and an ability to provide follow-up independently as required;
Special events planning experience encouraged;
May require minimal regional travel (Philadelphia, New York City);
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Must have a sense of urgency and be able to operate in a fluid environment with sensitivity to deadlines.
