The Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Regional Development department, located in Villanova, Pa., has an immediate opening for an experienced, enthusiastic and creative professional to join our team as a Development Assistant. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support services to the Regional Development Office with planning, coordination and implementation of the fundraising efforts for the Devereux Centers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Work with NJ and PA Centers to support fundraising and special event activities;

  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint to support development efforts;

  • Provides office administrative support as needed, including preparation of board and committee meetings, development correspondence, and banking card services, and purchasing card coding;

  • Assists colleagues with meeting note taking and preparation of formal minutes;

  • Supports the implementation of all special events and the annual fund, assigned committees and special projects, including travel to local meetings and assistance with setup and participation in events;

  • Responsible for calendar and meeting management;

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees;

  • Must maintain a level of professionalism with donors, Board members and volunteers;

  • Works within the Raiser’s Edge database, including gift entry, donor management, queries and reports, acknowledgement letters, and mailing lists;

  • Other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience;

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of secretarial/clerical experience, preferably in a non-profit or development work environment;

  • Non-profit database experience, preferably with Raiser’s Edge;

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; outstanding customer service skills;

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications, including Powerpoint, Excel Word and other presentation applications; Adobe Creative Suite and/or graphic design skills a plus;

  • Accurate and thorough with strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills;

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, as well as successfully adjust priorities to meet departmental/ organizational needs;

  • Must have an automobile in good working order with a valid driver’s license; MVR clearance with a satisfactory driving record and adequate levels of insurance.
