A Community Base Care Professional at Devereux is an important and impactful role that provides our clients (children, adolescents, and adults) with the guidance and support they need to lead empowering and fulfilling lives.

The goal of the Community Living Program is to assist and support clients as they become contributing members of their community. Our team members work with the client to develop a support plan that helps the client achieve maximum independence. The plan is designed based on the needs of the client, and incorporates supports that can address challenging behaviors. The Community Living Program is based on the philosophy that all individuals benefit from a challenging environment, and grow and learn through new experiences.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. Preferred - one year experience working in human services.

The IDEAL candidate will... Be empathetic, a team player, energetic, creative, have excellent communication skills, understand the theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and represent yourself as a positive role model.

Additionally, you must be able to complete required new hire orientation class, have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adolescents with special needs and possess a valid license.

Furthermore, in this role there can be significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.
