Being an On-Call Lead Behavioral Health Technician for our Respite program has its advantages!

Located in Tucson, AZ, our Respite Program serves children from birth to the age of 17, who are experiencing moderate emotional or behavioral difficulties. Through the Respite program, the kids get to enjoy group activities and go on field trips to museums, roller skating, and more! In this role you will actively assist the clients in the participation, involvement and routine of the Respite program. The goal of respite care is to successfully provide an interval of rest for clients and their primary caregivers without disruption or compromise to their home environments. Both forms of Devereux respite require a referral from the child’s behavioral health network .

As a Lead BHT, you will protect the health and safety of clients while supervising and implementing program activities and managing client’s behaviors. This position reads and implements each client’s individualized treatment plan, assisting in planning programming, and is an active team member in carrying out respite goals. The Lead BHT participates as a member of the respite team and maintains a team environment.

  • Pay rate starts at $16/hr. with opportunity for additional pay for experience and/or education

  • Schedule: On-call schedules Friday-Sunday * We use our On-Call staff year round for weekends and increasingly during the seasonal and holiday school breaks.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 2 years experience working with children/adolescents with behavioral/emotional needs required; or 1 year Devereux experience

  • Supervisory experience preferred

  • Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 39-month history check

  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions)

  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)

  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results.

  • Attend full time, paid, New Hire Orientation Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm

  • Must be able to complete and provide proof of current influenza vaccination

  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
