Position Details:

Pay Range: $17.00-18.70/hr. (depending on experience/education)

Schedule: On-call; weekends (with other hours as needed); m ust be able to do a minimum of one (1) shift per weekend; 3 (three) shifts per month

Located in Tucson, AZ, our Respite Program serves children from birth to the age of 17, who are experiencing moderate emotional or behavioral difficulties. Through the Respite program, the kids get to enjoy group activities and go on field trips to museums, roller skating, and more! In this role you will actively assist the clients in the participation, involvement and routine of the Respite program. The goal of respite care is to successfully provide an interval of rest for clients and their primary caregivers without disruption or compromise to their home environments. Both forms of Devereux respie require a referral from the child’s behavioral health network .

As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), you will work directly with the children/youth to be seen as a positive role model - dedicated and truly caring about their well-being. BHT’s mentor and have fun with kids doing various year-round activities such as art projects, field trips, and various athletics (basketball, soccer, Frisbee, etc)! You will assist and support the planning, implementation, and documentation of those programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of individuals in the Respite Program.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older

• High School diploma or GED required

• Previous experience working with children/adolescents with behavioral/emotional needs required

• Must be able to do a minimum of one (1) shift per weekend; 3 (three) shifts per month

OTHER:

• Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 39-month history check

• Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions)

• Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)

• Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results.

• Must be able to complete and provide proof of current influenza vaccination

• Attend mandatory full time, paid, New Hire Orientation Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm

• Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
