The Therapist reports directly to the Assistant Operations Director who is a licensed LPC.

What we look for in YOU:

  • Facilitate weekly individual therapy sessions, some with non-verbal clients

  • Facilitate small group therapy sessions as needed

  • Participation in vocational skills groups weekly

  • Conduct annual risk assessments; writing annual clinical summaries; developing and maintaining WRAP plans; developing and maintaining safety contracts

  • Attend monthly clinical, administrative, and supervisory meetings

  • Conduct monthly orientation training for new staff and refresher training for established staff

  • Program development of coping skills groups

  • Collaboration with external entities such as vocational programs, Psychiatrists, Physicians

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New Jersey touches the lives of nearly 500 children, adolescents and adults, and their families, across the state. Individuals with emotional, behavioral and cognitive disabilities, including autism, are served through a broad spectrum of treatment settings, including community-based homes and supported apartments, vocational training programs, family care homes, and consulting services.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or other related clinical discipline.

Experience:

  • Valid LCSW, LPC in the State of New Jersey

  • Two years of working with adult offenders, I/DD and/or SPMI (Severe and Pervasive Mental Illness)

  • One year of clinical work in a behavioral health setting

  • Experience providing in-community treatment preferred

  • Experience with clinical assessments, research and report writing

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • High level of initiative, accountability and professionalism

  • Exceptional organizational and problem solving skills

  • Ability to multi task and be deadline driven
