The Behavior Specialist reports directly to a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and will be based in our Sussex County location and provides clinical support to three group homes located in Sparta, Hardyston and Lafayette and one vocational location in Newton.

What we look for in YOU:

  • Assist BCBA with the assessment and treatment of challenging behaviors

  • Consultation on ISP Plan Goals/Objectives, as well as environmental supports

  • Training, oversight, and monitoring of direct support professionals with respect to behavioral support and therapeutic interactions

  • Data collection and inputting data into excel database

  • Input notes regarding behavioral services

  • Provide specific number of hours of services per consumer in required settings per week

  • Conduct observations and integrity assessments of BCBA's current BSP per Individual

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New Jersey touches the lives of nearly 500 children, adolescents and adults, and their families, across the state. Individuals with emotional, behavioral and cognitive disabilities, including autism, are served through a broad spectrum of treatment settings, including community-based homes and supported apartments, vocational training programs, family care homes, and consulting services.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Special Education or related field, Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) preferred.

Experience:

  • Two years experience working with behavioral Individuals with I/DD.

  • Experience with Functional Behavior Assessments and writing Behavior Support Plans.

  • Training and experience in Applied Behavior Analysis.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive and perform in an ever-changing, fast paced and demanding environment.

  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
