Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Substance Abuse Clinician (Residential) in Scottsdale, Arizona


Position Details:

Salary Range: $55,000-$60,500 (based on experience/education)

Hiring Bonus: $4,000

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (some flexibility for evening hours may be needed)

The Residential Treatment Center Substance Abuse Clinician (Counselor) provides both prevention and substance abuse treatment (DBT/ Relapse Prevention) and group therapy services to residential individuals in the Substance Abuse Program. This position maintains a caseload of assigned individuals, provides individual and family therapy services within the context of the Child and Family Team model, and adheres to the expected documentation. The Substance Abuse Clinician coordinates and oversees the 12-step program on campus and keeps current lists of external support groups for individuals in the substance abuse program. The Substance Abuse Clinician also collaborates with other clinicians, direct care professionals, teachers, and medical staff to maintain a therapeutic and safe environment.

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work

  • LASAC required , LISAC preferred (current/valid independent substance abuse license OR associate substance abuse license to practice in Arizona with no restrictions); or ability to sit for test

  • Relevant experience working with children and adolescents with substance abuse issues, preferably in a residential or inpatient setting. Maintains licenses and/or certification as indicated

  • Current unrestricted AZ Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) COVID-19 vaccine mandate requires staff without an approved medical or religious exemption to be fully vaccinated to be employed in this program.
