SCHEDULE : Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm with a flexible late night each week
The Residential Treatment Center Substance Abuse Clinician (Counselor) provides both prevention and substance abuse treatment (DBT/ Relapse Prevention) group therapy services to residential clients in the Substance Abuse Program. Maintains a caseload of assigned clients, and provides individual and Family therapy services to those clients within the context of the Child and Family Team model, and adheres to the expected documentation and within best practices. Coordinates and oversees the 12- step program on campus. Keeps current lists of external support groups for clients in the substance abuse program. Collaborates with other clinicians, Direct Care Professional, Teachers, and Medical staff to maintain a therapeutic and safe environment.
Located on a beautiful 10-acre campus in the heart of Scottsdale, Devereux Arizona’s 24-hour RTC and Therapeutic School, has the capacity to serve 48 children. The RTC is a safe and supportive environment that provides youth, from the ages of five to 17, who are experiencing emotional, behavioral or substance abuse challenges. We also provide an on-site accredited K-12 therapeutic school, which offers an academic curriculum while students receive intensive behavioral and emotional support.

Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work
Current/valid independent substance abuse license OR associate substance abuse license to practice in Arizona with no restrictions
LASAC required , LISAC preferred
Clinical Internship and one (1) year relevant experience working with children and adolescents with substance abuse issues, preferably in a residential or inpatient setting. Maintains licenses and/or certification as indicated.
Current unrestricted AZ Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
