Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Recreation Assistant in Scottsdale, Arizona

Description

Position Details:

Pay Range: $18.00-$19.80/hr. (range includes education and experience)

Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday 9:00am - 7:00pm

Located on a beautiful 10-acre campus in the heart of Scottsdale, Devereux Arizona’s 24-hour RTC and Therapeutic School, has the capacity to serve 48 children. The RTC is a safe and supportive environment that provides youth, from the ages of five to 17, who are experiencing emotional, behavioral or substance abuse challenges. We also provide an on-site accredited K-12 therapeutic school, which offers an academic curriculum while students receive intensive behavioral and emotional support.

The Recreation Assistant plans and implements structured activities under the instruction and supervision of a Certified Recreational Therapist. This position will perform a variety of programming, technical, and clerical functions related to recreation, including working with clients, staff and volunteers; monitoring day to day operation of groups and facilities, performing clerical duties such as documentation and filing.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in related field preferred

  • Two (2) years experience in recreational activities

  • Previous experience in a behavioral healthcare setting with children/adolescents required

OTHER:

  • Must possess (or have the ability to obtain) a AZ Level One Fingerprint Clearance card with NO restrictions

  • Must be able to pass 39-month DMV check

  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)

  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results

  • Must be able to complete and provide proof of current influenza vaccination

  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
