Then being a Behavioral Health Technician at Devereux is for YOU! Prior experience working with children - babysitting, school programs, summer camps - and a desire to help kids is what we are looking for!
Position pays $16.00 ($14.00 base pay + 2.00 per hour shift differential) for any hours worked as defined below:
$2.00 an hour Friday 3:00pm through Sunday 11:00pm
$2.00 an hour Monday - Thursday; 3:00pm -11:00pm
$1.00 an hour Monday - Friday; 11:00pm - 7:00am
In addition to the above, every quarter (90 days), your base pay will have an additional $.25 added to it, until you reach $16.00 an hour, as long as you remain in positive standing with the organization.
Being a Full Time Behavioral Health Technician for our Residential Treatment Program has its Advantages!
Located on a beautiful 10-acre campus in the heart of Scottsdale, Devereux Arizona’s 24-hour RTC and Therapeutic School, has the capacity to serve 48 children. The RTC is a safe and supportive environment that provides youth, from the ages of five to 17, who are experiencing emotional, behavioral or substance abuse challenges. We also provide an on-site accredited K-12 therapeutic school, which offers an academic curriculum while students receive intensive behavioral and emotional support.
As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will:
Protect the health and safety of clients while supervising and implementing program activities and managing client’s behaviors
Read and implement each client’s individualized treatment plan
Assist in planning programming
Be an active team member in carrying out treatment goals
Participate as a memberof the team and maintain a team environment

Must be 21 years of age or older
HS Diploma or GED required (Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or relevant field preferred).
Previous experience working with children/adolescents with behavioral/emotional needs required
Must be available to attend 2 weeks of required orientation training (paid, Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm) plus additional 2-3 weeks on the job training
Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 39-month history check
Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions)
Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)
Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
