This program has a staff to student ratio of 1:3 during wake hours and 1:6 on the overnights. The program provides services for youth with varying diagnostic presentations including, mood and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, disruptive behavior disorder, reactive attachment disorder and feathers of borderline personaily disorder. These girls also may present with a range of cognitive functioning from mild intellectual disabilty to above average intelligence. This program model will use dialectial behavior therapy that has been adapted for adolescents and for brief intervention.
Residential staff will be involved with students in commuity based activites.

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health - Massachusetts and Rhode Island provides programs and services for children and adolescents with complex mental health and behavioral challenges. Located in Rutland, MA, this position is responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned and provides and ensures therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) or High-school diploma with relevant human services experience required. Academic studies in the areas of psychology, sociology, social work, and education are highly desirable.
Previous experience preferred (not required) working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders.
Active driver’s license is required.
Must become MAP (Medical Administration Program) certified with 90 days of hire. Training is provided.

Be empathetic, a team player, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, energetic, creative, understand the theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and represent yourself as a positive role model. Additionally, you must be able to complete required new hire orientation class, have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adolescents with special needs, and possess a valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.
Work Environment: Regularly works inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Some fluctuations in temperature. Use of Protective equipment such as latex gloves, facial mask protective eyewear, and gown. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Some degree of physical involvement in exercise of Safe and Positive Approaches.
