Seeking Per Diem/On-Call Nurses!

As a Per Diem Nurse at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, you will use your expertise in the field to make a positive impact on our clients and families. You will support all of the Devereux nursing programs including cross training residential, day school and group home staff. The position is responsible for monitoring the health and safety issues of students within all locations of the school, residence and group homes. You will provide staff training to ensure optimal health and safety standards. You will initiate medical management and will play and integral role in the medical care of the children in assigned programs. Excellent communication skills are required as communicating with outside agencies, physicians and parents is key in this role. You will participate in student team meetings as indicated. Monitoring MAP in assigned group homes for quality assurance will be required.

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Massachusetts and Rhode Island provides programs and services for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders, complex mental health and behavioral health disorders. Located in Rutland, MA, this position is responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned and provides and ensures therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.

Qualifications

• Every Other Weekend is Required

• Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the State of Massachusetts

• Prior experience working with, and a strong passion for, helping adolescents with special needs.

• Being empathetic, a team player, having excellent written and verbal communication skills, energetic and creative.

• Understanding the theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and representing yourself as a positive role model are required traits.

• A valid driver's license is required. Knowledge of MAPS is preferred.

• Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
