Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Part Time Special Education School Teacher $1500 sign on bonus in Rutland, Massachusetts

Description

20 Hour Team Teaching Model - 20 hours per week

Starting at $25.31/hour. Additional compensation for higher education, licensure & relevant experience upto 74,343.25 per year.

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health has an exciting opportunity for a Special Education Teacher in Rutland, Massachusetts! Did we mention $1500 sign on bonus?

You could be a part of an exceptional team of teachers, aides, clinicians, speech and language pathologists, and occupational therapists. You’ll be working to meet the needs of students in grades K-12 and beyond, as they work toward diplomas and learn vocational, transitional, and social-emotional skills.

Our beautiful location brings together students who live on campus with students who are living at home in the local communities. While Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Services, Clinical Support and Vocational Training form important parts of our program, the Special Education Teacher is the foundation that weaves these services together into a unified whole, presenting and differentiating the Massachusetts State Frameworks in Math, English, Science, and Social Studies as you build on student strengths and successes in our self-contained classrooms.

Our students have typically experienced multiple academic failures, most often resulting from a wide variety of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. We utilize and train our staff with principles from PBIS, ABA and Trauma-informed care. We equip our classes with chrome books, smart boards, and access to premium, top tier educational websites. Every student also participates in specials including Animal Care with foster dogs, Culinary, Physical Education, Woodworking, and Art.

Teachers at Devereux receive access to tuition assistance and Loan Forgiveness Programs, as well as a supportive leadership team that works to guide professionals through the licensing process. The Devereux School is licensed by the Department of Education and Secondary Education, Accredited by The New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and is a member of The Massachusetts Association of 776-Approved Schools. Though most of our students come from Massachusetts, we have students and staff who came from many other states and several countries. We are shaped by growing Servant Leadership and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiatives.

Our small class sizes and low student: teacher ratios allow for individualized planning, influential relationships, and lots of direct instruction and modeling of concepts and behaviors. Our curriculum is aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and coordinated through a collaborative working relationship with referring school districts. Flexibility in academic programming and creativity to meet students’ needs are two of the strengths of our organization
