Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. Located at our main campus in Red Hook, NY (12571), this position is responsible for assisting in the overall overnight program shift management, and will provide direction and oversight of daily shift operations (ie: DSP scheduling, management of on shift resource, crisis response). They will demonstrate good telephone triage skills to assist in crisis management, responding directly if the need moves beyond telephone triage, and will also demonstrate good problem solving skills and knowledge of effective resource management strategies. The Assistant Night Supervisor will assume Night Supervisor duties in the absence of the Night Supervisor.

EDUCATION : High School Diploma required. Associates Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE : One year experience in a similar residential facility, preferably in a supervisory capacity.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, or other chemical or controlled substance. Significant, prolonged, and frequent amounts of walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, and lifting of 50 lbs. Using standard crisis intervention procedures must be able to effectively physically manage students weighing 70 lbs. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens.

Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) COVID-19 vaccine mandate requires staff without an approved medical or religious exemption to be fully vaccinated to be employed in this program. If you are fully vaccinated, you will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or have an approved medical or religious exemption prior to starting.
