Position Details:

Pay Range: $18 - $19.80 / hr (compensation based on education/experience)

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Arizona's Outpatient program offers comprehensive outpatient counseling services for individuals, families, and groups in the office, school and/or home setting. Specialties include the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Conduct Disorders, Mood Disorders, Physical Abuse, Sexual Abuse, and Anxiety Disorders.

The Medical Assistant provides direct, hands-on medical assistance to practitioners treating patients in an integrated health care setting. In this setting, the Medical Assistant will help improve and/or optimize the clinic workflows of medical practitioners by assuming responsibilities for medical tasks that can be performed by an MA. Medical practitioners include physical health care providers such as pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses and behavioral health practitioners including psychiatrists and psychologists.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and Medical Assistant Certificate required

• Completion of a Medical Assistant Externship

• Experience working with individuals in behavioral health preferred

• Bilingual preferred but not required

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology

• Excellent oral and written communication skills; customer service experience required

• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn other software programs

• Ability to work in a fast-paced office and prioritize multiple duties

Other:

• Must be 21 years of age or older

• Valid and current AZ state driver's license

• Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions ( OR eligibility to obtain with no restrictions)

• Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)

• Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results 

• Must attend the required one (1) week paid New Hire Orientation; Mon-Fri (8:30am-5:00pm) follow by 3 weeks of on the job training

• Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
