Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Foster Care Specialist in Phoenix, Arizona

Being a Foster Care Licensing Specialist for our Therapeutic Foster Care program has its Advantages!

Devereux Arizona’s Therapeutic Foster Care Program serves children ages 5 to 17 with significant behavioral and emotional needs, as well as adults. Individuals are referred to Devereux via Arizona behavioral health networks, and several tribal entities. Therapeutic foster parents are extensively trained to address each individuals' intense needs and work with them toward their treatment goals.

Located in Phoenix, AZ, the Foster Care Licensing Specialist trains, licenses (initial and renewal), and monitors foster homes in accordance with State licensure and Devereux requirements. This position also conducts Licensing Inquiries related to reports of non-compliance with licensure regulations and assists in recruitment and retention activities. The Foster Care Licensing Specialist works in office and in-home settings as well as throughout Devereux Arizona, its premises, and the community.

Position Details:

Pay Range: $16.00-17.85/hr. (based on experience/education)

Hiring Bonus: $1,000 (Full Time)

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

  • HS Diploma or GED with one (1) year work experience working in human services (foster care preferred) OR Bachelor’s Degree in related field with no minimum experience requirement


  • Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards)

  • Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 39-month history check

  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions ( or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions)

  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)

  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results

  • Must be able to complete and provide proof of current influenza vaccination   

  • Must attend one (1) week of New Hire Orientation (paid) Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
