The Devereux Florida External Affairs team is looking for an enthusiastic and creative Development professional to join our team as a Community Relations and Development Manager. As a Community Relations and Development Manager at Devereux Florida, you will support the Director of External Affairs in executing community relations and fundraising strategies to: 1) perform prospect research, donor solicitation, and stewardship efforts including events, special recognition of donations, and donor communications; 2) ensure movement on action plans identified by the External Affairs Department, Advisory Boards, Community Partners, Volunteers and internal staff.

Manage the implementation of community relations and development activities to advance Devereux Florida’s strategic priorities, promote collaboration and partnership, and engage supporters, donors and volunteers.
Identify new, innovative sources of fundraising revenue and while managing and strengthening other types of support (volunteer, in-kind donation of products and services, etc.).
Maintain and strengthen relations with foundations, corporations, community partners and individual donors through engagement efforts, including program tours and visits, special events, and other strategies to engage donors and volunteers.
Assist with the development of print material and digital content (e-blasts, social media, website content, and additional communication strategies) to communicate Devereux Florida’s impact in the community.
Promote Devereux Florida’s social media presence (through Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and other sites) to ensure content is relevant, consistent and tailored to engage target populations (donors, supporters, patient/client population, partners, youth, etc.).
Manage event planning for Devereux Florida’s fundraising events and awareness campaigns, including coordination promotional activities, venue logistics, printing and graphics, and all other details related to the events/campaigns.
Support community relations efforts with staff, to ensure that priorities are in alignment with Devereux Florida’s long-term goals, strategic priorities, mission, vision and core values, while educating staff on the policies in place to support these efforts.
Support Devereux Florida’s Advisory Board, including meeting coordination, special projects and events, and other Advisory Board activities & engagement efforts.
Promote Devereux Florida’s presence in local communities and strengthen relationships to establish and maintain corporate and community partnerships.
Provide support drafting grant proposals and reports, and support grant programs by managing the tracking of deadlines, deliverables, and other requirements.
Assist with updates to content on Devereux Florida’s website.
Ensure accurate and timely fundraising data management with all organization requirements and external regulations.
Other special projects and duties as assigned.
*This is not a supervisory role and therefore the individual will not have any direct reports.

What is Devereux doing to support and protect the health and safety of our staff during the COVID-19 pandemic?
At Devereux, nothing is more important than the health and safety of our clients, staff and families. All Devereux centers have formal infectious-disease and emergency-management plans tailored to specifically address the unique aspects of COVID-19 prevention. In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization, just a few of these precautions have included:
Establishing enhanced cleaning and disinfection across all campuses and sites
Implementing social distancing protocols across all programs
Using PPE, including masks, gloves and gowns as indicated by the CDC
Ensuring daily temperature and symptom screenings for all staff and clients
Throughout the pandemic, Devereux has also supported the physical and financial health of our dedicated team members - our very own Healthcare Heroes. A variety of options have been implemented over time to support our staff, including the provision of:
Ongoing dedication bonuses, as well as sign-on bonuses, for direct support professionals (DSP) and other staff members
Flexible schedules, remote working where possible, and redeployment between programs and services
Hazard pay for those supporting quarantined individuals and shelter away services to frontline staff, when needed, to mitigate spread to families
Advancing paid time off and sick time; eliminating telemedicine costs over a period of time

Must have 3+ years experience in nonprofit development and fundraising, charitable giving training a plus.
Skilled in conducting needs assessment, project planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Strong reading, writing & public speaking skills.
Must be well-versed in social media platforms, Microsoft Office platforms, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and a developing knowledge of MS Teams and OneNote. Raisers Edge experience a plus.
Valid Florida Driver's license
Must have a passion for supporting individuals with unique needs and a deep understanding of the challenges experienced by the individuals and families served by our programs and services.
Must have communications experience, with a working knowledge of social media and proposal-writing process from design to completion.
Skilled in follow through on assignments, demonstrates initiative, self-motivated, and have a strong work ethic.
Possess strong time management skills, including deadline prioritization of multiple projects with real-time timelines for assignments.
Flexibility to work occasional nights & weekends.
Is committed to producing accurate and high-quality work.
Can be trusted to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
