We are currently seeking a Senior Quality Improvement Director for Devereux PA Children Centers who will be responsible for the oversight, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of performance improvement activities; including data analysis, reporting, and coordination of team activities. This oversight will include the following Centers:

  • Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Behavioral Health Services (CBHS) focuses its efforts on intensive services for at-risk children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences. CBHS operates multiple services lines to include: Inpatient Acute Care Psych, Psychiatric Residential Treatment, Approved Private Schools and Community Based Services.

  • Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Intellectual & Developmental Disability Services (CIDDS) provides a variety of assessment, treatment, and educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges. CIDDS operates service lines to include: Residential Treatment and Community Based Services, Approved Private Schools and Therapeutic Foster Care.

Essential functions & skills required of the position include but are not limited to:

  1. Strong supervisory skills. Provides leadership and support to all member of the quality improvement division, including regular supervision, department meetings and routine performance improvement. Selects, evaluates, promotes, and recommends the establishment of new positions, as indicated, to ensure the ability of centers to deliver effective services across service lines.

  2. Solid and effective experience in establishing efficient & effective processes . Streamlines the approach of quality improvement between centers while recognizing the variations that may need to exist due to resources and population served at each center. Partners closely with National Quality Improvement to implement organizational initiatives and monitor the effectiveness and compliance with those initiatives.

  3. Substantial knowledge and performance in regulatory/standards compliance. Maintainsup-to-date knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, standards, and practices. Coordinates efforts on behalf of Children’s Services in maintaining compliance with internal Devereux standards (i.e., policies and procedures, best practices) and with state, local, and federal standards and regulation (i.e., DPW operating standards, placement agency requirements, TJC). Coordinates the preparation for and the sequence of activities involved in surveys/audits, complete with team meetings prior to annual audits to review outcomes of prior audits. Prepares evidence binders and organizes/oversees opening and exit conferences

  4. Exceptional proficiency in data analysis & data-driven decision making. Informs leadership teams of pertinent trends and patterns related to daily operations and clinical activities on a continuous basis. Drives the center in proactive and preventative approaches that are rooted in data-informed actions. Provides guidance and support in the development, revision, analysis, and implementation of performance improvement initiatives/activities. Coordinates the collection and analysis of data for performance improvement studies. Ensures that coordination of incident reporting updates, internally and externally, are communicated throughout the center, that center-specific items are in line with current expectations, and that all necessary changes are clearly conveyed in relevant communications and staff trainings.

  5. Comprehensive & accurate ability to investigate, monitor & assess risks. Oversees the completion of all internal investigations and monitors compliance with any recommended actions. Participates in the credentialing and privileging process, utilizing performance improvement information. Participates in the risk improvement program by overseeing the incident reporting system and providing trended data to service lines to inform systemic changes and risk prevention.

Education : Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred. Alternate degrees will be considered with 7-8 years QI experience in a behavioral health setting.

Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in quality improvement activities with background in healthcare strongly preferred.
