Being a Recreation Specialist at Devereux has its Advantages
Devereux Childrens Behavioral Health Services is looking for a Recreation Specialist to work 11am to 7pm. As a Recreation Specialist, you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need by planning and implementing therapeutic recreation programs for assigned clients with consideration of individual treatment goals.

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health PA Childrens Behavioral Health Services , located in Malvern, Pennsylvania, provides a variety of assessment, treatment, and educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with behavioral health diagnoses.
Key Words: Certified Recreational Therapist, Recreational Therapist, CTRS, Mental Health, Direct Support, Healthcare
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy and must have CTRS or be eligible to sit for the certification test. Previous experience in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred.
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday 11pm to 7am, Some weekends.
Physical Requirements: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying phsyical intervention techniques - upwards of 75 - 100lb. or more. Some repetitive wrist movemen, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional Driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive approaches (S&PA) techniques.
Work Environment: Regularly works outdoors and inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Some fluctuation in temperature. Protective equipment - latex gloves, facial mask protective eyeware, gown. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Some degree of physical involvement in exercise of S&PA I, II and III techniques (when necessary).
