Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Psychiatrist-Child/Adolescent - Weekend Only in Malvern, Pennsylvania

Child & Adolescent Board Certified Psychiatrist

Position Details:

  • Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry

  • Weekend "Moonlighting" Opportunities- 14 hours per weekend (Saturday-Sunday), not to exceed 8 hours per day

  • Primary assignment is acute care inpatient with children/adolescents with RTF case coverage as needed

  • Location of position-onsite face to face in Malvern, PA.

Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) – the only free standing children’s psychiatric hospital in Chester County, Pa. – employs a team of acute care professionals dedicated to meeting the needs of children and adolescents, ages five to 18, and their families, in acute mental health crisis. Many of the individuals we serve are from Southeast Pennsylvania, but DCBHC has served children and adolescents from other regions of Pennsylvania, as well as neighboring states.

Diagnoses may include: suicidal gestures and attempts, cutting and self-injurious behaviors, depression, aggression, psychosis, autism spectrum disorders, and/or drug and alcohol issues.

Sign On Bonus: Full Time- $10,000

Part Time- $5,000

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluates, diagnose and treat mental, emotional and behavioral disorders for children/adolescents within acute care inpatient Unit.

  • Determines appropriate course of treatment

  • Creates treatment plans

  • Prescribes medication as needed/necessary

  • Completes electronic medical records

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist with current license . Must have child psychiatry training if treating population 16 years and younger. Completion of an approved psychiatric residency program is required. Duty to immediately notify Executive Director or Human Resources in the event license, privileges or mandated certification is suspended or revoked.

EXPERIENCE: Completion of an approved psychiatric residency program is required. Psychiatrist working with child and/or adolescent clients must demonstrate relevant treatment competency through clinical experience, continuing education units and referral letters to support these specific skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to a flexible work schedule including nights and weekends. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient computer skills and mastery of Microsoft Office applications. Valid driver’s license must be maintained in state of residence.
