Devereux's Children's Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) is seeking a Full Time Program Supervisor for our Inpatient Acute Care Psychiatric Hospital for children and adolescents. Devereux's Children's Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) is located in Malvern, PA and specializing in the stabilization and treatment of children and adolescents experiencing a mental health crisis. This is a small 40 bed hospital with a children's wing and an adolescent wing.
This position will function as a shift supervisor. The main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Maintains a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program clients.
Provides leadership, guidance and support to staff and ensures overall program integrity during assigned shift.
Coaches, mentors and supervising staff, providing feedback regarding performance, crisis intervention and training/development opportunities.
Performs quality checks and audits to ensure program integrity and safety
Assists with admissions and discharges on assigned shifts
Ensures compliance and adherence to policy and procedures

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree from an accredited college with at least twelve credits hours in a human services discipline to include but not limited to psychology, sociology, social work, education, pastoral counseling, political science, heath, recreation, criminal justice, counseling; and a minimum of two years direct care experience; OR 60 college credits from an accredited college with at least twelve credit hours in a human services discipline (as described above), and three years direct care experience.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year of supervisory experience required.
Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
Physical Requirements: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques – upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches (SPA) techniques.
Work Environment: Regularly works inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Some fluctuations in temperature. Protective equipment – latex gloves, facial mask protective eyewear, gown. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Physical involvement in the exercise of SPA intervention techniques.
