As an Outpatient Clinician at Devereux Community Services you will be involved in conducting individual and family therapy in an office location with flexibility in scheduling your appointments. This position allows clinicians the opportunity to work with individuals ranging in age from 2 to 21 years old, depending on enrollment through a school district, with a wide range of clinical diagnoses.
Individual therapy identifies a child’s specific behavioral challenges and develops the use of skills that will enhance the individual’s strengths through various forms of therapy. Family therapy focuses on improving and enhancing family communication and positive support through parent education and family systems therapy. Outpatient Clinicians will work with their supervisor and team to ensure they are providing high quality and effective services to their caseload to improve client and family well-being and decrease the need for more intensive services.
Specific responsibilities of an Outpatient Clinician include:
Delivering weekly outpatient therapy to their caseload
Creating resiliency plans to reflect appropriate interventions/goals for each individual assigned.
Ensuring proper documentation of session notes, resiliency plans, assessments, and referrals for additional services including medication and/or case management.
Reviewing psychiatric evaluations for collaboration and to ensure that all recommendations are being followed.
Complying with regulatory, organizational, and center standards of care.
Ensuring safe, effective delivery and documentation of resiliency services for all individuals in outpatient programs.
Assisting in the hospitalization process as required and/or provide assistance to caseload in crisis situations.

Implementing social distancing protocols across all programs

Ensuring daily temperature and symptom screenings for all staff and clients
Throughout the pandemic, Devereux has also supported the physical and financial health of our dedicated team members - our very own Healthcare Heroes. A variety of options have been implemented over time to support our staff, including the provision of:

Required education: Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work.
Preferred: LPC, LMFT, LCSW in the state of Pennsylvania
Experience: Previous experience conducting individual and/or family therapy, preferably with children and adolescents, required. Must be willing to work afternoons and evenings in order to provide therapy hours after school and after parent/guardian end of work hours. Proficient computer skills and a working knowledge of software programs (i.e. Microsoft Office including Word and Outlook) required. Previous experience utilizing an electronic health record preferred.
Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
