Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, Childrens Behavioral Health Services, provides programs and services for children and adolescents with emotional disturbances and mental health Diagnosis. Located in Malvern, PA, this position is responsible forspecializes in evidence-based behavior change for students with disabilities by providing direct assistance to educational staff, administrators, behaviorists, students and parents in the areas of behavior change using Applied Behavior Analysis and addressing challenging behaviors of students attending the Devereux Bramdywine School. The BCBA provides individual and group trainings; conducts and supports functional behavior assessments and analyses; develops positive behavior support plans; ensures fidelity of implementation of behavior plans; advises behaviorists, teachers and administrators regarding best practices and regulations; works as a collaborative consultant with school and agency personnel; provides expertise regarding behavior modification in complex cases; participates in IEP meetings; and becomes a member of the PDE behavior intervention committee.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Master’s degree in education, psychology or related field and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or enrollment in a graduate program leading to a BCBA

EXPERIENCE: Prior experience working with students with special needs. Prior experience writing FBAs, BSPs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to administer CPR. Ability to administer first aid. Ability to properly restrainadolescent/adult clients. Ability to create and maintain a therapeutic milieu. Regularly requires walking, standing, stooping,bending, and pushing/pulling (1/2 to 3/4 of the workday). Seldom requires sitting. May require lifting up to 50 lbs. (1/4 - 1/2 ofthe workday). Requires repetitive wrist/hand movement (3/4 to 4/4 of the workday).Range of hearing and vision sufficient tooperate standard office machines and communicate with co-workers and stakeholders in person and via telephone.Free ofdependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances. Oftendrives a Devereux vehicle or van. Regularly works inside in areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated (1/2 to 3/4 of worktime). Some fluctuation in temperature. Also, regularly works outside. May work in wet conditions (<1/4 of work time)

CORE CURRICULUM (recommended training): As required annually by licensing agencies and Devereux (organization and Center-Specific modules).

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION : Will be in accordance with experience, training and demonstrated performance.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE : Regularly works outdoors and inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Some fluctuations in temperature. Protective equipment – latex gloves, facial mask protective eyewear, gown. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Physical involvement in exercise of S&PA techniques (when required).
