Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Admissions Specialist in Malvern, Pennsylvania

You will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need.Devereux's Children Behavioral Health Center is currently seeking a Full-Time Admission Specialist to work at their acute psychiatric inpatient hospital located in Malvern, PA. The Admission Specialist performs a variety of tasks involving hospital admissions processes to include primary external and internal customer contacts, intake processes, data entry and tracking, and performing on-going chart and documentation audits to ensure compliance and payment for services provided. Shift: Monday-Friday position 5pm-1am

Specific functions of the position include but are not limited to:

  1. Serves as the primary source for all formal and informal communication pertaining to patient admissions. Communicates effectively, professionally, and politely with referral sources, families, insurance companies, clinical and nursing staff. Carries the Center’s Admissions phone throughout his/her entire shift and transfers admissions phone line to next person when shift is complete

  2. Maintains accurate database in Tracking and Profiler for intakes and authorizations. Generates ID number and enters authorization(s) into system once patient has arrived

  3. Completes intake forms, verifies insurance benefits, and obtains authorizations. Completes legal consent forms, bio-psychosocial, certificate of need, and any other form pertaining to admission process upon actual admission. Documentation of all performed non-medical treatment services is completed in a timely fashion. Ensures that all documentation is professionally written reflecting scope and intensity of services delivered

  4. Able to triage work responsibilities and respond to crisis situations related to acute operations as needed

  5. Performs chart audits as needed

Education: Requires Associates Degree

Experience: Two years experience in ahealth-care facility

Valid drivers license must be maintained

Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
