Through our residential and placement services in the community, we help individuals learn the skills needed for independent living and making meaningful life choices. Supportive settings in comfortable home environments ensure that individuals have access to services that are appropriate to their developmental level and cognitive, emotional and social abilities.

As a Direct Support Professional, you will assist in the planning and implementation of group home services for assigned clients, and be responsible for the safety and security of all clients in assigned group homes. You will also provide therapeutic interventions as necessary. Responsibilities may include managing chores & room care, meals, medication administration, recreation activities, facilitating peer interactions & socialization, working on their treatment goals, and providing transportation for clients, families, or others as assigned.

You will add value by :

Maintaining a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program clients while improving functioning and minimizing interfering behaviors.

Providing client documentation to include shift reports, incident reports, and individual progress notes.

Facilitating proper medical care including medication administration for clients.

Assisting clients in daily living activities including health & personal management, achieving personal goals, recreation, and daily household living.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

• Must be 21 years of age or older

• High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelors preferred

• Drivers license required.

• Previous experience preferred (not required) working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders.

• Diana Screening Assessment

• Must be able to attend a 2 week paid orientation, which runs Monday-Friday, 8AM to 4PM.

• Schedule after orientation is 3-11pm

Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
