If helping adolescents (ages 12-22) is your passion, then you will enjoy making a positive impact through this important and critical role.
As a Registered Nurse at Devereux, you will:
Assess patients; collect and document the patients current health status and medical history. Perform both direct patient care (i.e.. medication administration), as well as indirect patient care (i.e.. giving thorough, concise report at change of shift).
Maintain documentation related to ESI (emergency safety intervention), QPRT assessments (suicide prevention method), nursing shift progress notes, lab slips, and related nursing procedures.
Participate in and assist with the initial treatment plan and the treatment planning process.
Communicate with members of the treatment team information related to the client's medical care and behavior.
Most importantly, make a POSITIVE IMPACT on our clients and families!

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Graduate of an approved school of Nursing. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in state. Experience: Previous Professional experience in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred.
The IDEAL candidate will... Be empathetic, a team player, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, energetic, creative, understand the theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and represent yourself as a positive role model. Additionally, you must be able to complete new hire orientation class, have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adolescents with special needs, and possess a valid license.
Physical Requirements: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.
Work Environment: Regularly works inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Some fluctuations in temperature. Use of Protective equipment such as latex gloves, facial mask protective eye wear, and gown. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Some degree of physical involvement in exercise of Safe and Positive Approaches.
