Here’s your chance to be the CTE/Vocational Instructor for the Devereux team in providing integrated services at Mount View Youth Services Center(MVYSC).
Devereux staff will work at the Mount View Youth Services Center (MVYSC) located at 7862 West Mansfield Parkway in Lakewood, CO. MVYSC is a secure, co-ed multi-purpose facility operated by the CDHS Division of Youth Services (DYS). The strategic goal of DYS is to operate healthy trauma-responsive organizational environments as demonstrated through prosocial, safe, and non-violent interactions. Devereux staff will be integrated into the environment and work collaboratively to build and maintain safe and trauma responsive environments.

Student tuition assistance
The CTE Instructor will assess student interests, aptitudes, vocational and employability skills and interests. Ensure Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Post-Work-Force Readiness (PWR) courses are in place which provide meaningful vocational programming, meet documented labor force needs, and which may be taught on computers or through hands-on, project-based programming. Assist students with hands on skill development, project based programming, exploring career options through attendance at job fairs, access to the Colorado Workforce Center resources, career research online, providing guidance on options and process for applying to college or trade schools, and hands on work experience training in various established work sites. Classroom programming shall include ACT/SAT preparation, online career and technical training, applying for and attending college courses or trade schools, resume preparation, interviewing skills, job search techniques, interpersonal communication skills, appropriate workplace behavior, harassment, and other workplace policies. Partner with area community college programs.

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a field of study related to the work assignment.
Valid Initial or Professional Teacher License, and a CTE license or endorsement in barbering or cosmetology.
Ability to be approved as an adjunct professor in the Colorado Community College system highly preferred.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
Experience with secondary urban youth, culturally responsive teaching, and trauma informed classroom practices preferred.
