The Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health People Operations Department, based in King of Prussia, Pa., is looking for an enthusiastic and creative professional to join our team, facilitating a positive experience from introduction through a year or more of service supporting participants in navigating their new role, building relationships and acculturation. As Devereux’s Outreach and Volunteer Program Specialist , you will recruit graduates to work with individuals in residential settings, group homes and schools who have a behavior health diagnosis, including Individual Development Disabilities (IDD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This creative professional will:

  • Serve as a critical point of contact with universities, including internal leaders and other valued stakeholders designing, coordinating and facilitating programs, implementing strategy while managing multiple priorities and tasks.

  • Form positive relationships with universities, volunteers, center staff and leadership demonstrating clear and professional boundaries and resolving conflict constructively and directly;

  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal communications to observe, listen and effectively communicate verbally and in writing acting as a servant leader and keeping our organization’s mission in your heart and mind when making decisions.

  • Demonstrate advanced skills in understanding and implementing volunteer programs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or other related field;

  • Previous experience working with universities or volunteer programs, preferably in a behavioral healthcare, human services, healthcare, clinical or university environment;

  • Superior written/oral communication skills, strong project management and organizational skills, analytic skills and mastery of standard office software;

  • Must demonstrate professional demeanor with exceptional interpersonal skills, team player, and be able to make quick and accurate decisions independently; Ability to work with constantly changing priorities and multi-tasker, and have sound judgement and an ability to provide follow-up independently as required;

  • Strong leadership skills with ability to lead and influence by example, deal with complex issues and be comfortable speaking to different audiences;

  • Special events planning experience encouraged;

  • May require minimal regional travel;

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Must have a sense of urgency and be able to operate in a fluid environment with sensitivity to deadlines.
