Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health's Georgia Program, located in Kennesaw, GA, provides new hopes, new dreams, and new choices for children, adolescents and young adults struggling with emotional and behavioral health challenges. Our Nurse Practitioner, provides individualized care focusing on the effects of psychiatric and health problems on clients, utilizing established standards and practice guidelines. Provides psychiatric coverage to include admission assessments, psychiatric evaluations, and medication management, under the supervision of a licensed psychiatrist. Serves as a leader of assigned treatment teams. Serves as an educator to clients and their families regarding the details of psychiatric diagnoses, health problems, medications, and other health care related topics. Responsible for emphasizing wellness and self-care by providing clients with the information they need to make healthy lifestyle choices and other health care decisions. In accordance with professional training, a licensed nurse practitioner may evaluate, diagnose and treat health problems under the supervision of a licensed physician.

EDUCATION: Graduate from a Master's level psychiatric nurse practitioner program in either family practice or pediatrics. Current valid independent or associate license and to practice in Georgia with no restrictions. GA DEA and NPI are also required.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years experience working with children and adolescents with mental illness is required. Experience in working independently in the assessment and treatment of mental illness in children and adolescents.
