This opportunity involves providing individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and case management services to adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges in a residential setting. We are seeking a therapist with experience in trauma, substance abuse, sexual/gender identity and social skills to work specifically with adolescents. Training/certification in evidenced-based practices such as DBT, TF-CBT and family therapy models a plus.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Master's Degree in the field of Counseling, Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology/Sociology, or a related psychological field required.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Current Georgia license required - APC, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, AMFT, LMFT or equivalent; AMFT, LMFT preferred.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two (2) years experience counseling children & adolescents with mental and behavioral health challenges required; Candidates with BCBA experience highly desirable. Previous direct care experience, specifically with children and adolescents living with psychological, emotional and behavioral challenges preferred. Previous Psychiatric Residential-based Treatment setting and/or Group Home experience preferred.

Other qualifications:

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; leadership, relationship management and multi-tasking skills are required.

  • Strong technical skills and ability to utilize in-house computer applications.

  • Valid Driver's License required; Satisfactory Drug Screen and Background Check results.

  • Must be able to complete a two-week, paid new hire orientation class; hours are approximately 8:30am to 5:30pm daily.

  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
