The Food Service Support Specialist will be responsible for preparing three meals each day, plus snacks for our individuals on-site. You will ensure that meals are nutritious and adequate for the caloric needs of growing youth according to short-term shelter care services standards and state licensing standards. They will also take youths’ cultural preferences (including religious practices regarding food) into account when planning and preparing meals.
Schedule: 10:30am to 7:00pm ( every other weekend is required ).

EDUCATION: Minimum GED or High School Diploma required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of six months to 1 year of food prep/service experience required, in a commercial or a residential food services facility. Experience in a school setting is highly desired but not required. Avalid Food Handlers card OR the ability to obtain one.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be customer-service oriented.
Strong problem solving skills; and good judgement skills in order to make sound and independent decisions.
Have a strong passion for working with and helping children living with emotional and behavioral differences.
Valid Driver's License and Satisfactory Drug Screen and Background Check results.
Must be able to complete a two-week, paid new hire orientation class; hours are approximately 8:30am to 5:30pm daily.
The Federal Government COVID-19 vaccine mandate requires most staff working at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Georgia to be vaccinated. In order to be employed at this center in this position, you must:
If vaccinated - provide proof of vaccination prior to start date.
Receive the first dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine or a one-dose COVID-19 vaccine prior to providing any care, treatment, or other services by Dec. 5, 2021; and
The necessary shots to be fully vaccinated – either two doses of Pfizer or Moderna or one dose of Johnson & Johnson – by Jan. 4, 2022 .
Note: If you are getting the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, you must get this vaccine by Dec. 5, 2021 .
