Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is one of the largest and most advanced behavioral healthcare organizations in the country. Nestled near the beaches between the Pacific Coast and Santa Ynez mountains, Devereux California is a therapeutic behavioral health treatment facility offering residential and community living services, clinical services, and a vocational day program for adults with multiple diagnoses, including autistic spectrum disorders, emotional and/or behavioral differences, intellectual and developmental disabilities, dementia, and other cognitive disorders.

We are looking for an energetic and compassionate Assistant Supervisor to support our Program Manager in the efficient operation of our Weisman program.Weisman Center is a residential care facility for adults aged 59 and older. The goal of Weisman is to maintain an excellent quality of life for an aging population. Maintaining skills, functioning, and good health are all promoted. Weisman Center encourages residents to make choices about their activities of daily living, develop skills and interests, and increase independent use of community resources when possible. This home supports individuals with behavioral and medical challenges.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Providing guidance and support to staff

• Providing direct support, including hygiene care, to adults served

• Management of petty cash funds

• Staff scheduling and allocation per established staff/individual served ratios

• Maintaining, collecting and entering all PSR compliance data

• Overseeing accurate and timely collection of data by Direct Care Staff per individual goals and objectives

• Planning and creating activities for individuals served

• Must have the ability to serve adults with challenging behaviors

• Other duties, as assigned by Program Administrator

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred

• One (1) year of experience providing direct care to adults with developmental disabilities required

• Two years of Supervisory/Lead staff experience highly preferred

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required

• Weekend availability required

• Must have a strong passion for helping adults with special needs

• Must have comfort with hygiene and elder care

Physical Requirements:

Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing required. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required when applying physical intervention techniques in excess of 100 lbs or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to master Safe and Positive Approach trainings.

Work Environment:

May require use of protective equipment such as latex gloves, facial masks, protective eye-wear, and gowns. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Some degree of physical involvement in exercise of Safe and Positive Approaches.
