Position Details:

  • Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry

  • Full Time position with benefits and paid time off

  • Primary assignment is with children/adolescents Psychiatric Residential Treatment Programs (PRTF)

The Brandywine program serves children and adolescents, inclusive of biological male youth who are ages 7-17 at the time of admission and biological female youth who are ages 12-17 at the time of admission. The program is inclusive for all youth with respect to sexual orientation and gender identity.

The Brandywine Program is located on an open campus in Glenmoore, Pennsylvania. The focus of the Brandywine Program is to create a safe environment where healing and growth can occur. Our program seeks to promote recovery and resilience by addressing a variety of complex emotional and behavioral challenges. Youth admitted to the Brandywine Program have experienced multiple challenges and adverse events such as a lack of intact family and other natural supports, multiple unsuccessful treatment and child welfare interventions, and exposure to interpersonal violence and loss. Repeated contacts with mental health, child welfare and juvenile justice systems are common experiences for the youth and families we serve.

Sign On Bonus: Full Time- $10,000

Part Time- $5,000

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluates, diagnose and treat mental, emotional and behavioral disorders for children/adolescents within PRTF.

  • Determines appropriate course of treatment

  • Creates treatment plans

  • Prescribes medication as needed/necessary

  • Completes electronic medical records

Diagnoses may include: suicidal gestures and attempts, cutting and self-injurious behaviors, depression, aggression, psychosis, autism spectrum disorders, and/or drug and alcohol issues.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist with current license. Must have child psychiatry training if treating population 16 years and younger. Completion of an approved psychiatric residency program is required. Duty to immediately notify Executive Director or Human Resources in the event license, privileges or mandated certification is suspended or revoked.

EXPERIENCE: Completion of an approved psychiatric residency program is required. Psychiatrist working with child and/or adolescent clients must demonstrate relevant treatment competency through clinical experience, continuing education units and referral letters to support these specific skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to a flexible work schedule including nights and weekends. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient computer skills and mastery of Microsoft Office applications. Valid driver’s license must be maintained in state of residence.
