Devereux Children's Behavioral Health Services is currently seeking a Program Director for the Brandywine Residential Treatment Facility located in Glenmoore, PA. This facility provides psychiatric residential treatment and education services for adolescent males who experience behavioral and psychiatric challenges, often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors to create safe & supportive living environments.

The Program Director will administer and coordinate unit operations to provide safe and effective programs and services for clients under their care. Manages unit fiscal budget and participates in admissions processes. Provides supervision and guidance to all employees in their charge by communicating and ensuring compliance with organizational and center standards of care. The role will ensure cooperation with other departments/functions of the treatment team and/or other support services (e.g., utilization review, admissions, business office); and providing a work environment that encourages skills acquisition and employee development.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates development of unit programs and services, to include proposing policies and developing operating procedures, designed to ensure the maximum therapeutic impact for clients and their families

  • Participates in the development of and manages assigned program fiscal budget. Shares resources across the program as needed. Implements financial strategies that coincide with organizational and center goals.

  • Directs employees to ensure adequate staffing. Interviews, selects, orients, supervises employees and/or delegates responsibility where appropriate, and recommends terminations in conjunction with the Assistant Executive Director and Human Resources. Completes performance assessments for employees in a constructive and timely manner.

  • Utilizes and ensures the appropriate utilization by employees of Devereux's approved crisis intervention plan. Reviews incidents involving usage of intervention techniques, especially holds, in order to ensure proper application by employees.. Provides coaching, training, mentoring and oversight of staff's performance.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with at least twelve credits hours in a human services discipline to include but not limited to psychology, sociology, social work, education, pastoral counseling, political science, heath, recreation, criminal justice, counseling. Master’s degree in human services field preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years’ experience with increasing level of supervisory responsibilities in a behavioral healthcare setting.
