Being a Nurse Manager at Devereux has its Advantages
As a Nurse Manage r at our Brandywine Campus in Glenmoore, PA, you will:
Supervise your nursing team that in their duties to include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of our male clients dealing with behavioral issues.
Interact with our pharmacy, Residential Director of Nursing Services, parents, other staff and/or program leaders.
Provides crisis prevention and intervention.
Offer feedback and training to staff regarding their performance improvement and development.
Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Behavioral Health Services (CBHS) focuses its efforts on intensive services for at-risk children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences. Each year, more than 800 children and adolescents, ages six through 18, receive specialized care in the environment best suited to the challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional and life skills needed to return to their home communities and become productive and positive forces within their neighborhoods.

Education & Experience: Graduate of an approved School of Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Previous experience in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Physical Requirements: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques – upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Infrequent driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches (S&PA) techniques.
Work Environment: Regularly works inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Some fluctuations in temperature. Protective equipment – latex gloves, facial mask protective eyewear, gown. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Some degree of physical involvement in exercise of S&PA I, II and III techniques (when required).
Core Curriculum: As required annually by licensing agencies and Devereux (organization and Center-specific modules).
