Position Details
Full Time and Part Time work available.
Work Hours are 11pm-7am
Work Schedule for Full Time is 4 days a week and every other weekend rotation required (40 hours per week)
Work Schedule for Part Time-every other weekend required but can pick up additoinal shifts when available
Educational Requirements: At least a High School Diploma, some college credits preferred
Experience Required: 1 year of experience with children, adolescents or adults in a similar behavioral health setting
Hour rates $$14.75-$17.67 (dependent on education and experience)
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have a valid Driver’s License

Devereux Brandywine Programs provides psychiatric residential treatment and education services for adolescent males who experience behavioral and psychiatric challenges, often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments.
In this role you will:
Assist adolescents with following routines, encouraging self-care, assisting them to participate in activities/social events, self-control, positive peer interactions, personal responsibility and much more.
Provide supervision and a safe environment to adolescents assigned to you during your shift
Provide behavior intervention, follow approved behavior plans and implement positive praise and direction
De-escalate unsafe or inappropriate behaviors or responses
Conduct 15 minute checks throughout the overnight shift of all assigned clients
Document progress and daily responses to intervention in medical records

Qualifications
High School Diploma, college credits preferred.
One (1) year of human service experience working with children, adolescents, and adults preferred.
Shifts Available include Full time Overnights (11pm - 7am with every other weekend rotation) and Weekend Intensive ( Saturday and Sunday 7am - 11pm and a shift during the week).
Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.

The IDEAL candidate will... Be empathetic, a team player, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, energetic, creative, understand the theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and represent yourself as a positive role model. Additionally, you must be able to complete required new hire orientation class, have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adolescents with special needs and possess a valid license.
Physical Requirements: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.
Work Environment: Regularly works inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Some fluctuations in temperature. Use of Protective equipment such as latex gloves, facial mask protective eyewear, and gown. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Some degree of physical involvement in exercise of Safe and Positive Approaches.
