Being a Social Service Coordinator for Devereux has its Advantages

• Facilitates liaison and lines of communication between agencies, unit, families and Multi-Disciplinary team to discuss clients' behavior progress and treatment.

• Participates in admissions/evaluations for the unit.

• Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement program as defined by Center Procedures.

• Practices within and influences others to follow external and internal guidelines governing the facility and one's professional licensure guidelines. The internal guidelines include, but are not limited to GAP Standards, Devereux policies and procedures, credentialing and staff development.

• Demonstrate a degree of understanding of and implementation of applicable external controls such as, but not limited to, local licensing authorities, JCAHO, and managed care procedures.

• Demonstrate the ability to structure the unit physical and social environment so that every interaction and activity within the treatment program promotes positive goal-directed responses and/or social interactions from the client and facilitates the psychotherapeutic goals of treatment.

• Demonstrate the ability to purposefully manage and use the structured environment as an instrument for treatment in promoting desired behaviors, encouraging a sense of responsibility and self-control, and fostering optimal functioning in activities of daily living and interpersonal interactions (environmental / milieu therapy).

• Participates in treatment planning process and makes revisions as necessary.

• Completes all needed reports and documentation in a timely fashion.

The Social Services Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Behavorial Health.

Salary: $45k-47k

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New Jersey touches the lives of nearly 500 children, adolescents and adults, and their families, across the state. Individuals with emotional, behavioral and cognitive disabilities, including autism, are served through a broad spectrum of treatment settings, including community-based homes and supported apartments, vocational training programs, family care homes, and consulting services.

Governor Murphy’s Executive Order 283 COVID-19 vaccine mandate requires unvaccinated staff without a medical or religious exemption requires the following:

• Must receive the first dose prior to their start date , if you are receiving a 2 dose vaccine, your second dose is three weeks after your first dose.

• You will also need to receive your booster shot by 3/30 or within 3 weeks of becoming eligible based on CDC guidelines, whichever is later. Currently those guidelines call for booster shots 5 months after receiving the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or 2 months after receiving the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. The order requires all staff eligible receive the booster to be considered up to date on their vaccinations.

• If you are already fully vaccinated, you will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or have an approved medical or religious exemption prior to starting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related discipline.

• One year of Case Management or Social Work experience.

• Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
