Be empathetic, a team player, able to work with a child one on one or in a group setting, energetic, understanding, creative, understands the theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and represent yourself as a positive role model. Additionally, must have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adolescents with special needs.**
Our kids are admitted to us for various reasons, but primarily due to significant trauma, substance abuse, Danger to Self (DTS) and Danger to Others (DTO) behaviors. Our BHT’s are empathetic, creative, and passionate about enriching the lives of those they serve.
They do this by providing a safe, high quality therapeutic environment, and establishing positive and professional relationships with each client. This is done by implementing the client’s treatment plan, following a daily schedule, our PBIS program, and our policies and procedures.
The RTC campus includes a school, inside and outside recreational areas, cafeteria, nursing, psychiatry, and four dormitories on 10 acres. Our 48 bed RTC program serves kids ranging from 5 to 17 years old, which are currently experiencing significant emotional, behavioral and substance abuse challenges. They receive education on site, and each has an individualized treatment plan that supports the need for this high level of treatment, which also aides in their future success within the community.
