Behavioral Health Technicians

for our 24-hour safe, secure, BMFL, Residential Treatment Center (RTC). The RTC campus includes a school, inside and outside recreational areas, cafeteria, nursing, psychiatry, and four dormitories on 10 acres. Our 48 bed RTC program serves kids ranging from 5 to 17 years old, which are currently experiencing significant emotional, behavioral and substance abuse challenges. They receive education on site, and each has an individualized treatment plan that supports the need for this high level of treatment, which also aides in their future success within the community. The RTC program provides:

  • Positive Behavioral Intervention Support is the Program Foundation

  • On-Site Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

  • 24/7 on site Medical Staff (RN staff)

  • Masters Level Teachers and Clinicians

Our kids are admitted to us for various reasons, but primarily due to significant trauma, substance abuse, Danger to Self (DTS) and Danger to Others (DTO) behaviors. Our BHT’s are empathetic, creative, and passionate about enriching the lives of those they serve.

They do this by providing a safe, high quality therapeutic environment, and establishing positive and professional relationships with each client. This is done by implementing the client’s treatment plan, following a daily schedule, our PBIS program, and our policies and procedures.

Our shifts vary afternoons and evenings with weekend hours. Shifts run 2:30pm-10:30pm with a double on the weekend, 7am-11pm We offer full-time schedules working 4 days a week.

Requirements

HS diploma or GED required, Bachelor's in relevant field preferred.

Previous behavioral health work experience with children/adolescents required.

Valid driver's license required to transport clients.

Additionally, you must be able to complete 2 weeks of new hire orientation class, have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adolescents with special needs and possess a valid license.**

Physical Requirements:

Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.**

Work Environment:

Regularly works inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Some fluctuations in temperature. Use of Protective equipment such as latex gloves, facial mask protective eyewear, and gown. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Some degree of physical involvement in exercise of Safe and Positive Approaches.**
